Job Summary
The Procurement Specialist role at Icon Protection is responsible for ensuring effective quality communication and documentation with suppliers. This involves purchasing, inventory management, sourcing, negotiations, and vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the company's reputation by putting customers first and conducting business with integrity.
- Track inventory levels and order materials to meet demand while maintaining proper inventory levels.
- Responsible for procurement activities including vendor identification, RFQ, quote analysis, and vendor selection.
- Purchase materials in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Create accurate purchase orders by verifying specifications and pricing.
- Constantly review costs to ensure the best price available.
- Make recommendations on cost-saving options.
- FOLLOW UP AND COMMUNICATE WITH SUPPLIERS ON PO CONFIRMATIONS AND ORDER STATUS.
- Coordinate resolution of issues with regards to product quality, on-time performance, miss-shipments, and returns.
- Build and maintain positive business relationships with vendors.
- Act as a liaison between the company and suppliers on issues such as artwork, packaging requirements and timing.
- Keep current on market options in packaging, raw material supply and manufacturing.
Requirements
Must possess at least two years of relevant procurement experience. Possession of a high school diploma or GED is required, and a bachelor's degree is strongly preferred. Must have strong negotiating, organizational and administrative skills as well as proficient Excel skills.
