This recruitment is for positions as an Interim Facilities Cleaner and Interim Senior Facilities Cleaner through the university's internal temporary staffing service.

These roles may be based at the UC Irvine campus or any affiliated UCI Health facility across Orange County and Southern Los Angeles County.

Interim Facilities Cleaner

Under the guidance of the Senior Custodial Supervisor or Assistant Custodial Supervisor, the incumbent will be tasked with maintaining cleanliness across various facilities.

Responsibilities will encompass daily floor maintenance, dusting, restroom sanitation, kitchen upkeep, cleaning of fixtures and furniture, trash removal, window washing, and additional duties as required to uphold a high standard of cleanliness.

Interim Senior Facilities Cleaner

This role includes all responsibilities of the Facilities Cleaner, along with advanced cleaning techniques and the ability to suggest improvements to existing processes. Advanced cleaning tasks may involve pressure washing, buffing and waxing hard floors, and deep carpet cleaning.

Key Responsibilities:
Aligned with university job specifications for custodial roles.

Facilities Cleaners

Under supervision, incumbents will perform basic or semi-skilled cleaning, housekeeping, or general maintenance tasks. Duties may be performed independently or as part of a team.

Incumbents may have varying levels of interaction with the public, depending on the specific duties and work hours assigned.

Senior Facilities Cleaners

In addition to the responsibilities of the Facilities Cleaner, this role involves skilled cleaning and the ability to propose enhancements to processes and procedures. Examples of skilled cleaning include pressure washing, buffing and waxing hard floors, and deep cleaning carpets.

TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT:
This recruitment is for temporary employment under the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department. Interviewing and hiring will be based on internal needs and how well candidates' experiences align with the job requirements.

Certain temporary roles may necessitate a health clearance or a valid California Driver's License for operating university vehicles.

The majority of temporary positions are scheduled Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available based on assignment needs.
