Position Overview

The primary responsibilities include receiving, stocking, shipping, ordering, and counting inventory items. This entry-level role requires the safe operation of a forklift to manage all lumber and building materials while adhering to established work and safety protocols.


Compensation:
$15.00/hr.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure safe operations.
  • Contribute to a positive work atmosphere.
  • Assist warehouse staff and supervisors in maintaining an orderly work environment, including emptying trash and keeping all areas clean and organized.
  • Receive incoming products and materials.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Count and document received materials.
  • Stock all materials in designated bins or storage areas.
  • Support inventory control efforts in counting and organizing warehouse stock.
  • Adhere to all company policies and guidelines.
  • Operate forklifts using foot and hand controls.
  • Utilize forklifts to build outgoing orders or load completed orders onto delivery vehicles.
  • Operate facility equipment as necessary (e.g., bander, power tools, various hand tools).
  • Monitor inventory as required by management.

Maintain awareness of the work environment to ensure error-free and damage-free outcomes. Participate in and complete assigned training sessions.

Other duties may be assigned by management.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Preferred education: High school diploma or GED.
  • No prior experience required; training will be provided.
  • Ability to perform basic math, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms.
  • Willingness to learn to read a tape measure.
  • Effective communication skills with customers, colleagues, and supervisors, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to constructively address conflicts and identify potential issues.
  • Proficiency or willingness to learn current technologies (e.g., smartphones, inventory control systems, and other necessary business applications).

Physical demands include standing and walking for extended periods, exposure to varying temperatures, bending or stooping, and regularly lifting up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting of 100 pounds or more.
