Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver outstanding urological services to both new and returning patients.
  • Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, review patient medical histories, perform diagnostic tests, and prescribe suitable medications and treatments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient evaluations, findings, treatments, and communications in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Assist physicians in procedures as required.
  • Administer various medications, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, while monitoring patient symptoms and managing side effects.
  • Evaluate patient and family needs, providing necessary education and support.
  • Participate in hospital rounds and consultations as needed.
  • Engage in limited on-call responsibilities.
  • Assess and triage patient inquiries to determine appropriate care plans and follow-up actions.
  • Facilitate case management for patients and their families.
  • Exhibit strong multitasking abilities, problem-solving skills, and adaptability in a dynamic urology practice.
  • Demonstrate independence and effective collaboration within the healthcare team.
  • Maintain a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to enhancing patient care.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and ensure compliance with privacy standards.
  • Provide mentorship and oversight to clinical nursing and support staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a bachelor's or master's degree program in physician assistant or nurse practitioner studies.
  • Possession of a valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in the state.
  • Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a Primary Care or Urgent Care environment.
  • Valid DEA registration and controlled substance license.
  • Experience in urology or surgical settings is preferred but not mandatory.
Travel Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel to various office locations as necessary.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Involves physical activities such as walking, bending, and twisting.
  • Requires full range of motion, including manual dexterity and coordination.
  • May involve assisting with patient transfers.
  • Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 40 lbs.
Work Environment:
  • Work primarily in medical office and examination room settings.
  • Potential exposure to communicable diseases and biohazards typical of clinical environments.
