UNIV - Administrative Support Specialist - Orthopaedics Department

Job Summary
Provide administrative support to the Orthopaedics department, including faculty, senior staff, and advanced practice providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Support: Coordinate meetings, communicate with members regarding physician availability and scheduling, and maintain calendars.
- Reimbursement and Records: Compile physician reimbursement receipts and provide them to the department's fiscal analyst for processing.
- Attorney Requests: Process and facilitate attorney requests, including scheduling depositions, telephone conferences, and Independent Medical Exams.
- Correspondence and Communication: Handle correspondence related to disability and FMLA forms, and facilitate the completion and distribution of paperwork.
- Faculty Appointments and Credentialing: Prepare and process faculty appointments, hospital credentialing packages, and support providers in obtaining licensure and certification renewals.
- Training and Development: Attend department meetings, MUSC-sponsored meetings, and training sessions, and complete required training elements and updates.
Requirements
- A high school diploma and two years of related work experience, or a bachelor's degree in lieu of experience.
- Some positions require a valid driver's license, good driving record, or physical qualifications in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and using hands/arms.
- Ability to lift and carry 15 pounds, and push/pull objects to 15 pounds.
