Job Summary:

The Histotechnologist is a vital member of our laboratory team at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. As a Histotechnologist, you will be responsible for processing human tissue and body fluids, including accessioning, processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, cover slipping, labeling, and distribution to the pathologist for final evaluation and diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process human tissue and body fluids, ensuring accurate and timely results

• Collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory staff to ensure high-quality diagnostic support

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations

• Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on laboratory procedures and technologies

Requirements:

• Associate's degree or graduate of a technical school

• No previous experience required, but certification as a Histotechnologist (HT) is preferred
