Job Opportunity

Nexus Talent Connect is seeking a highly skilled Attorney to join our team in Tampa, FL.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a vibrant and dynamic environment, where innovation meets expertise. As an Attorney or Patent Agent in our Intellectual Property & Technology Service Line, you will be responsible for preparing and prosecuting patent applications, conducting legal research, and providing strategic advice on intellectual property matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications, ensuring thorough and accurate documentation to protect client innovations.
  • Conduct detailed legal research and provide strategic advice on intellectual property matters, supporting clients in safeguarding their IP assets.
  • Manage complex IP projects, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and maintain high standards of quality.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, providing updates and collaborating on IP strategies and solutions.
  • Utilize advanced practice management systems and databases to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IP prosecution and litigation processes.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in electrical or computer engineering, or computer science.
  • Registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Over 2 years of experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications (attorney position only).
  • Over 2 years of experience in intellectual property litigation (attorney position only).
  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school (attorney position only).
  • Admission to practice law in one or more states, with a willingness to become barred in North Carolina and/or Florida (attorney position only).
  • Strong technological skills, including proficiency with practice management systems and portals.
  • Superior research skills, including the use of online services and databases.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation ranging from $145K - 175K, contingent upon experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.

Schedule and Location:

  • Full-time position based in Tampa, FL.
  • Stable Monday to Friday work schedule.
