KPMG is actively seeking a Senior Associate to enhance our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional client service to multi-state corporations facing state and local tax challenges, including compliance, advisory services, planning, technology, and disputes.
  • Examine information presented on state sales and use tax returns throughout the preparation process.
  • Support multi-state corporations in evaluating state tax implications related to business restructuring initiatives.
  • Assist multi-state corporations with state and local tax disputes, which involves preparing clients for auditor discussions, representing clients at hearings and appeal meetings, and drafting protests.
  • Conduct research and draft technical memoranda addressing state and local tax inquiries.
  • Assist clients with technology solutions tailored to their tax reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in providing sales and transactions tax research and technical guidance on multi-state issues.
  • Bachelor's degree in Taxation or a Master's in Taxation (MST) from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with various corporate taxes and their implications on sales tax.
  • Strong understanding of the development, planning, and execution of sales and transactions tax refund claims.
