Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Remedial Math Teacher to join our team at Indianapolis Metropolitan High School. As a member of our STEM instructional team, you will play a critical role in facilitating learning for students in grades 9-12 who require additional support in mathematics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement curriculum units for courses such as Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Precalculus-Trigonometry.
  • Deconstruct standards to create daily learning goals that drive students to standard mastery.
  • Foster a structured and supportive classroom environment that is consistent with school agreements and provides students with frequent feedback to support their social-emotional development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to refer and connect students to wraparound services, including Family Empowerment Coaching, Social-Emotional Learning, and Special Education.
Requirements
  • Current Indiana Teaching Certification in the subject specialty or the willingness and eligibility to obtain an emergency teaching license.
  • Experience in a special education or co-taught special education classroom setting is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Math 180 curriculum or other math intervention software is preferred.
