Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the supervising physician and medical director, the Advanced Practice Nurse will:
1. Exhibit proficiency in utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR).
2. Evaluate patients for eligibility for admission and ensure compliance with established criteria.
3. Conduct comprehensive medical assessments for patients upon admission, adhering to institutional protocols.
4. Document and communicate significant medical findings to the attending physician that necessitate prompt intervention.
5. Respond to urgent medical situations and accurately record observations in the patient's medical file.
6. Conduct necessary medical evaluations and maintain thorough documentation.
7. Initiate corrective measures as required, in line with infection control regulations.
8. Uphold and advocate for patient rights and confidentiality.
9. Engage in departmental and committee meetings as required.
10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge in the areas of substance use and addiction treatment.
11. Perform pre-employment health assessments for new staff as needed.
12. Fulfill on-call responsibilities as assigned.
13. Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Medical Director.
Additional Expectations:
The employee is expected to adhere to all organizational policies, including those related to security and privacy concerning Protected Health Information (PHI), as well as the use of the electronic health record system both on-site and remotely. The employee should also support the organization's mission and values.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master's degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited institution.
Experience:
Postgraduate training or relevant clinical experience involving direct patient interaction in a primary care environment. Proficiency in computer systems is essential, with prior experience in Electronic Health Records preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Must hold a valid nursing license in the State of New York with current registration in a primary care specialty. Additionally, a current DEA registration, including Suboxone certification, is required, along with a Narcotic Education Attestation Certificate, Infection Control Certificate, CPR certification, NPI Number, and Medicaid Number.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must successfully complete a physical examination and comply with health regulations as stipulated by the organization.
Compensation:
Annual salary of $145,000 or $69.71 per hour.
