Job Summary:

As a Healthcare Inspector with the Health & Human Services Comm, you will play a critical role in protecting residents' health and safety by conducting on-site inspections and investigations in Texas long-term care facilities. Your expertise will be essential in assessing compliance with state and federal laws and rules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site licensure inspections, complaint and incident investigations, and annual comprehensive surveys in facilities to determine compliance with federal and state health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate clearly and accurately with others to provide, exchange, or verify information, answer inquiries, address issues, or resolve issues or complaints regarding social services provided in Texas long-term care facilities.
  • Complete inspection or survey reports detailing deficiencies, recommended remedies, and narratives to support regulatory findings.
  • Visit long-term care facilities to verify correction of previously cited regulatory violations.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of documents prepared by others.

Requirements:

  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to use the computer for writing reports.
  • Ability to integrate complex regulatory concepts, procedures, or processes.

Work Environment:

This position requires most travel during the day, with some overnight and weekend travel required, as well as occasional on-call duties for emergencies or high-priority situations in facilities.
