We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Construction Engineering Intern. This is a summer internship assignment where you will assist a project team with management, field construction activities, and documentation of a project.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate with foremen and superintendent to learn about field construction operations and provide support.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, inspectors, and the local community.
- Assist the project engineer with approving timecards in Heavy Job and ensure all equipment and employee time is accounted for accurately.
- Provide support with verifying quantities in FIS and log quantities for cost and revenue tracking.
- Assist the project engineer with generating and distributing daily cost reports to the project manager, foreman, and superintendent.
- Assist with the completion of daily reports documenting both Intermountain Slurry Seal and subcontractor activities.
- Place necessary material orders, survey requests, locates, etc.
- Assist with the calculations of yields of materials used such as concrete, aggregate base, and asphalt.
- Support the jobsite daily with the project manager or engineer to verify quantities claimed are correct and stay current on overall job progress.
- Currently enrolled in a Construction, Engineering, or related undergraduate program at an accredited 4-year university.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Availability and willingness to travel frequently.
- Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferred but not required).
