About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Applied Scientist to join our Next Generation Developer Experience (NGDE) Science team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building AI-based services for Amazon Q Developer, redefining the way developers work.

As an Applied Scientist, you will work closely with software engineers to drive the delivery of end-to-end modeling solutions, leveraging your expertise in machine learning to advise team members on a range of topics. Your work will focus on ambiguous problem areas where scientific breakthroughs are required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement AI-based services for Amazon Q Developer
  • Collaborate with software engineers to drive the delivery of end-to-end modeling solutions
  • Advise team members on machine learning topics
  • Work on ambiguous problem areas requiring scientific breakthroughs
About the Team

The NGDE Science team is part of AWS Utility Computing, which provides product innovations for cloud computing, including Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). As a member of our team, you will support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS.

Requirements
  • PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience building models for business applications
  • Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related languages
  • Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing, or Deeplearning, Generative AI, and Large Language Models
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in professional software development
  • Experience using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other machine learning frameworks
