Role Specifics:
The Advanced Practice Provider will be a vital member of the Trauma Services team at a level II trauma center. Responsibilities include rounding on trauma patients in intensive care and other inpatient units, responding to trauma activations, and participating in bedside procedures and patient resuscitation.
Trauma Services operates around the clock, requiring flexibility in scheduling, including a mix of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. However, this position does not require taking call.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Current state license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant.
- Eligibility for State Controlled Substance License II through V.
- Eligibility for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.
- BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Certification from a recognized certifying organization such as ANCC or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
- Relevant experience as defined by leadership.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires:
- Ability to see and read information, assess patient needs, and operate medical equipment.
- Frequent verbal communication and the ability to hear and understand spoken information accurately.
- Manual dexterity for handling delicate equipment and frequent computer use.
- Physical capability to lift and move patients and equipment of varying weights.
- Ability to navigate busy environments and assist with patient transportation.
