We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CT Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and safety in our radiology department.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients and safely perform routine CT procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols.
- Act as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, providing guidance and support to ensure their success in the role.
- Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care and ensure seamless communication with healthcare teams.
- Independently operate CT equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol, including the placement of IVs.
- Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure they meet diagnostic quality standards.
- Complete timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and perform notification/remediation as warranted.
- Assist in the facilitation of departmental operations, including inventory management, staff scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- ARRT registered (RT) and radiography (R) and/OR computed tomography (CT) certified and/OR NMTCB registered (CNMT) and/or unrestricted state license required.
- Documented training and experience in CT, radiation physics, and protection required.
- Advanced certification in CT required by an organization recognized by the ACR Registry within two years of employment.

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare teams.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and various software packages specific to the role.
The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
