Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Manager to join our team at Kroger. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Meat Department to achieve sales growth, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead and manage a team of Meat Department associates to achieve sales growth, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve department sales, customer service, and operational efficiency.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and feedback, and make recommendations for promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer engagement and retention.
  • Operations and Merchandising
    • Oversee the daily operations of the Meat Department, including inventory management, pricing, and display.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve department merchandising, including product placement, signage, and visual displays.
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking of meat products.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and minimize shrinkage.
  • Food Safety and Quality
    • Ensure compliance with Kroger's food safety and quality standards.
    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure proper handling, storage, and display of meat products.
  • Training and Development
    • Provide training and development opportunities to Meat Department associates to improve their skills and knowledge.
    • Develop and implement training programs to ensure compliance with Kroger's policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role in the meat industry.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Knowledge of meat industry trends and best practices.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks. The Meat Department Manager will be required to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a refrigerated environment.
