About the Job:
The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of regional Beneficial Use Facilities. This role involves working closely with senior management to ensure the successful operation of these facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall operation of Beneficial Use Facilities, including approval, receipt, delivery, and placement operations.
- Oversee maintenance activities and ensure proper utilization of staff and equipment.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including hourly and salaried employees, managers, vendors, partners, regulatory agency staff, and community members.
- Directly and indirectly manage a team of supervisors and hourly facility processing staff, including laborers, scale operators, equipment operators, administrative staff, and technical support roles.
- Work with the safety team to ensure a safe and healthy work environment, focusing on continuous improvement, safe work practices, and positive employee health and wellbeing.
- Generate reports for senior management and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with plans and specifications, as well as applicable Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements.
- Maintain positive relationships with state and local regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for facility compliance, transportation logistics, and overall profitability.
- Recommend new work practices, coordinate data flow, control expenditures, and recommend equipment upgrades or replacement.
- Effectively communicate company programs and initiatives to all direct and indirect employees.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental/civil engineering, environmental science, or business management is recommended.
- 8+ years of experience in facility operations, with at least 5 years in supervisory capacity.
- Experience in the operation of treatment, processing, recycling, and/or transfer facilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to plan and supervise the work of others, motivate and lead teams.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Self-directed with the ability to work under pressure and manage several projects simultaneously.
- Creative thinker with the ability to consider 'out of the box' solutions.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills.
