Centerline Logistics Corporation is seeking an experienced Offshore Port Captain to join our team. As a key member of our marine operations department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of petroleum products and general cargo.

About the Role

The Offshore Port Captain will oversee the operation of our tugboats and barges, directing crew members to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise Crew Members: Directly supervise captains, mates, and deck crews to ensure they are following company procedures and complying with regulatory requirements.
  • Vessel Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of tugboats and barges to ensure they are in good working condition and compliant with industry standards.
  • Scheduling and Planning: Assist in scheduling SIRE inspections and vessel maintenance, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Incident Investigations: Perform thorough investigations into incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Five years at sea as Master on tugboats, tankers, or oil barges, or equivalent military experience.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid US Coast Guard Masters license on offshore towboats 200T Minimum/Master of Towing Endorsement required.
  • Education: Four-year college education in Maritime or related studies preferred.
