Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Systems Engineer Architect to join our diverse and skilled workforce.

In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for developing system architectures and defining essential capabilities and performance requirements.

The individual will outline design and technology maturity constraints in line with customer specifications, create comprehensive definitions of system external interfaces, and establish the system implementation strategy and operational concept.

The candidate will ensure that requirements are fulfilled and assess performance in collaboration with the customer.

The ideal candidate will have the capability to analyze architectures and produce various DODAF or SysML viewpoints to support this initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop system architectures
  • Conduct architecture, CONOPS, and use case development utilizing model-based systems engineering methodologies
  • Execute functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to convert customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Perform trade studies to select from multiple potential solutions
  • Conduct Systems Requirements analysis
  • Manage requirements, including decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited institution with 14 years of engineering experience; OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 9 years of engineering experience.
  • Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an interim Top Secret clearance prior to commencement, within a reasonable timeframe as determined by the organization.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance after employment begins.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Foundation in Model-Based Systems Engineering and Architecture Development
  • Applied knowledge of aircraft design.
  • Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Cameo Magic Draw or other MBSE tools such as Rhapsody, Sparx EA, and Enterprise Architect.
  • Experience in developing various DODAF view artifacts, particularly Operational and functional viewpoints, using MBSE tools like CAMEO.

Salary Range:
$142,000 - $213,700.00. The above salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers several factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
