Job Summary

The Department of the Air Force - Agency Wide is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for protecting our Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance; Air Forces CYBER; Electronic Warfare; Information Warfare; and Global Weather operations from terrorism, espionage, and threats to airborne and fixed sites considered vital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee Antiterrorism (AT) and Mission Assurance (MA) programs for 16 AF and serve as the NAF subject matter expert on all matters involving AT/MA requirements, policy, procedures, and program status.
  • Responsible for the overall implementation, oversight, and centralized control of the coordinated AT/MA programs for the C-NAF.
  • Plan, conduct, direct the conduct of, or coordinates on security site studies, projects, assessments, and surveys of the installation in relationship to AT/MA activities.
  • Represent 16th AF at meetings, conferences, workshops, panels, etc. at MAJCOM and other federal agency levels as the AT/MA technical expert.

  • All new CES employees are required to complete a three-year CES trial period
  • Must be registered for Selective Service
  • Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
  • Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
  • Employee must maintain current certifications
  • Position is designated Special-Sensitive, and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
Qualifications

This is a GG-12 position in the Cyber Excepted Services (CES). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level.

To qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements describes in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  • Mastery of a wide range of advanced concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices involved in security.
  • In-depth knowledge of security program interrelationships to coordinate the objectives and plans of two or more specialized programs to support and promote information sharing and strategies.
  • Aptitude to interpret a variety security program laws, directives, regulations, and guidance to assist subordinate organizations in establishing and operating internal security programs.
  • Skill in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review, evaluate, and apply several alternatives according to the security requirements for highly specific situations, availability of materials, relationships with other protective programs, and cost/benefit considerations.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately to a large range of audiences.
  • Ability to integrate and coordinate multiple and related missions, functions, subjects, issues, and situations across echelons to present and recommend solutions in a logical, cohesive format.
