Job Summary

Community LIFE is seeking a skilled Health Information Specialist to join our team. As a Health Information Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining participant medical record documentation in accordance with state and federal licensing requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of participant medical information
  • Organize and maintain participant medical records in a secure and confidential manner
  • Develop and implement effective data management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and complete documentation of participant medical information
  • Provide training and support to staff on data management and documentation best practices
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent with medical records/health information training preferred
  • Minimum of 2 – 3 years of medical records or clerical healthcare office experience
  • Document imaging/scanning experience is preferred
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Excel data entry
  • Ability to plan and organize effectively
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with participants, families, and facility staff
  • Ability to communicate effectively via telephone, verbally, and in writing
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Must have a compassionate and empathetic attitude for the frail older adults
  • Ability to operate office equipment
