The Senior IT Applications Manager will oversee the daily operations of the application management team, which includes responsibilities such as staffing, budgeting, and other essential management functions. This role is crucial in ensuring that all application delivery teams are held accountable for maximizing the cost-effectiveness, risk management, and overall value of applications throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced business systems analysis and project management tasks, which encompass planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining business applications and IT systems.
- Evaluate customer and business process requirements; analyze workflows and data structures to support these needs; assess potential solutions and implement or recommend options that align with the company’s mission and objectives.
- Collaborate closely with business units to develop comprehensive business requirements and well-supported justifications for new IT system initiatives.
- Communicate effectively across all organizational levels to ensure project success and that user needs are recognized and addressed.
- Create and uphold standards, procedures, and documentation pertinent to the area of responsibility.
- Assess user requirements and collaboratively define the vision, goals, and objectives to achieve them.
- Determine resources and timelines for project and application implementation.
- Organize, plan, and schedule activities to ensure timely project completion within budget constraints.
- Develop comprehensive systems plans that ensure alignment with business drivers and objectives.
Qualifications:
- A degree in computer science, engineering, finance, business management, or equivalent experience.
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to convey key concepts effectively to technical staff, business stakeholders, and senior management.
- Demonstrated capability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences to enhance understanding and facilitate decision-making.
- Proven experience in collaboration, relationship-building, and influencing individuals at all levels within a matrix-management environment, including external vendors and service providers.
- Strong organizational abilities, capable of performing under pressure while managing multiple priorities with competing resource demands.
- Robust analytical, data-processing, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in process formulation and enhancement.
- Experience in transitioning organizations from traditional practices to agile development methodologies.
- Over 8 years of demonstrated leadership experience in fostering cross-organizational consensus with exposure to technology providers and/or business clients.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in managing a high-performing, cohesive team.
- Demonstrated experience in programming database applications, configuring large-scale ERP systems, and leading development teams.
- Experience with large-scale ERP and CRM implementations.
