Job Overview

Blue Ridge Assisted Living is dedicated to providing exceptional care and a fulfilling lifestyle for our residents. Our community is designed to support a wide range of senior living needs, including specialized Memory Care services.

We are seeking a Memory Care Activities Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for our residents.

This role involves the creation and execution of engaging programs tailored for individuals in our Memory Care unit. The Coordinator will focus on delivering both physical and emotional support to residents, ensuring a nurturing and secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a diverse Memory Care program that includes Life Skills and activities suitable for those with dementia.
  • Collaborate with the Memory Care Director to provide a variety of engaging activities throughout the day and evening, ensuring staff involvement.
  • Work alongside the Memory Care Director to create a comprehensive schedule of activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of residents.
  • Provide ongoing training for Memory Care staff on relevant topics related to dementia and resident care.
  • Assess resident preferences and needs prior to their move-in, informing Care Managers accordingly.
  • Facilitate the development of Service Plans and Daily Assignment Sheets to ensure high-quality service delivery and resident engagement.
  • Act as an advocate for Memory Care programming and activities within the community.
  • Coordinate with dining services to meet the individual needs and preferences of residents during meal times.
  • Monitor changes in residents' conditions and communicate these to nursing staff.
  • Establish partnerships with local Alzheimer's organizations to enhance program offerings.
  • Design specific programming that addresses the unique needs of residents diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease or related dementias.
  • Create a welcoming and therapeutic environment that fosters resident engagement.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Commit to delivering outstanding quality care and service.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for any identified deficiencies to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant state laws and regulations to ensure adherence.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in dementia care.
  • At least one year in a leadership capacity.
