Blue Ridge Assisted Living is dedicated to providing exceptional care and support for our residents, focusing on a holistic approach to senior living.

We are seeking a Memory Care Activities Coordinator to enhance our Memory Care Program.

This role is pivotal in developing and executing engaging programs tailored for residents with memory impairments, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive Memory Care program that includes Life Skills and various dementia-friendly activities.
  • Collaborate with the Memory Care Director to provide a diverse range of activities throughout the day and evening, ensuring active participation from Care Managers.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of a varied activity schedule that caters to the unique interests and abilities of Memory Care residents.
  • Deliver ongoing training to Memory Care staff on relevant topics related to dementia and the specific needs of our residents.
  • Review resident preferences and needs prior to their move-in, ensuring Care Managers are well-informed.
  • Facilitate the development of Service Plans and Daily Assignment Sheets to guarantee exceptional service delivery and resident engagement.
  • Act as a champion for Memory Care programming and activities within the community.
  • Work closely with dining services to meet the individualized needs and preferences of residents during meal times.
  • Monitor changes in residents' conditions and communicate findings to nursing staff.
  • Establish partnerships with local Alzheimer's organizations to enhance program offerings.
  • Develop tailored programming for residents diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease or related dementias.
  • Create a welcoming and therapeutic environment that fosters resident engagement.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Aim for excellence in care quality and service delivery.
  • Implement corrective action plans for identified deficiencies and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of current state laws and regulations affecting resident care.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in dementia care.
  • At least one year in a leadership capacity.
