About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team at Taconic Rehabilitation and Nursing. As a COTA, you will work under the direction of an occupational therapist to provide high-quality care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct treatment procedures to improve residents' day-to-day functioning despite impairment or limited mobility.
  • Prepare equipment for treatment and perform occasional clerical duties.
  • Record clinical documentation according to accepted regulatory, facility, and professional guidelines.
  • Establish and instruct caregivers in resident-specific maintenance programs.
  • Secure necessary durable medical equipment and adaptive equipment for residents to facilitate independence.
  • Act as a clinical preceptor for affiliated Occupational Therapy or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant schools.
  • Comply with state regulations and national standards as they apply to the practice of Occupational Therapy.
Requirements
  • New York State Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure.
  • CPR certification.
  • Physical strength to lift between 50-100lbs.
  • Ability to read and understand work assignments, as well as report verbally and provide written documentation as necessary.
  • Respect for residents' privacy and rights; display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly.
  • Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness.
