The Clinical Utilization Specialist (CUS) is responsible for performing on-site evaluations of cases referred by case management personnel and other healthcare professionals to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and align with the institution's goals for delivering high-quality patient care while optimizing healthcare resource utilization.

The CUS collaborates with case management and healthcare team members to review specific cases and provide recommendations for patient care, engaging with medical staff and medical directors from third-party payers to address patient needs and explore alternative care options.

The CUS serves as a valuable resource for attending physicians regarding the appropriateness of admissions, ongoing hospital stays, and resource allocation. Additionally, the CUS provides guidance to the medical staff concerning federal and state regulations related to utilization and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work autonomously while also engaging in a collaborative team environment
  • Contribute to a community-focused healthcare setting, serving multiple counties
  • Collaborate with a leadership team dedicated to supporting your professional growth
Required Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree in a relevant field.
  • Active Indiana Physician License.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience post-residency.
