Steel Erection Superintendent Job Description

Bo-Mac Contractors, Ltd. is seeking an experienced Steel Erection Superintendent to oversee and manage our steel erection projects in the Greater New Orleans, LA area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel construction, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of steel erection crews to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate construction.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Train and mentor crew members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Experience in the bulk handling industry is preferred, but not required.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills, with a strong ability to motivate and direct teams.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including blueprints and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and TWIC card.
Preferred Experience:

Preference given to candidates with a minimum of 5 years of work experience as a steel erection supervisor, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance expectations.
