About the Role

We're seeking a skilled CEG (HR) Reporting & Analytics professional to join our team at American Express. As a key member of our organization, you'll play a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying software and systems that meet the needs of our customer-facing applications, business applications, and internal end-user applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop analytical reports to be consumed by key stakeholders leveraging Oracle Analytics
  • Create reusable data assets ready for analysis
  • Apply software engineering best practices to analytics code
  • Collaborate with product owners, delivery managers, vendors, engineers, architects, and key stakeholders to resolve complex technical problems and create solutions
Requirements
  • 5+ years of Software Development experience in a professional environment and/or comparable experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experience required; advanced degree preferred
  • Hands-on experience with design and development of backend data models for Reporting & Analytics
  • Knowledge across other analytical tools like Tableau and/or Power-BI
  • Solid understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) tools, Data Warehouse (DW), Data Modelling concepts and SQL/PLSQL
  • Familiar with Agile or other rapid application development methods
  • Experience with design and coding across one or more platforms and languages as appropriate
  • Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines with independent judgement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Proven ability to solve technical problems and the ability to influence key stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Good understanding of Analytics solutions & architecture on Big Data Platforms
  • Integrated data sets
  • Good understanding of CI/CD processes leveraging Jenkins, XLR, and Maven
  • Good Understanding of Internal and Public cloud technologies
  • Professional certifications are a plus
  • A proven hunger to learn new technologies and translate them into working software
  • Ability to proactively support colleagues and collaborates with them to help achieve targets
