About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Specialist to join our team at O'Brien Engineering, Inc. (OEI). This is a full-time opportunity that offers a dynamic and rewarding work environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire protection engineering and experience working on federal projects. They will be responsible for designing and developing fire protection systems, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop fire protection systems, including fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, smoke control systems, and other related systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential fire hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local fire protection codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with architects, other engineers, and project managers to integrate fire protection measures seamlessly into building designs and construction projects.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and documentation related to fire protection systems and compliance efforts.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to ensure the installation and implementation of fire protection systems meet the approved plans and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
  • Knowledge of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) codes and IBC (International Building Codes).
  • Experience working on federal projects and familiarity with federal regulations is advantageous.
