Obsidian Solutions Group LLC (OSG) is looking for a motivated Exploitation Specialist to support our Geodetic Surveys Division (SFNS). This role involves providing essential photogrammetry assistance, particularly in the areas of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) processing and analysis, as well as generating point clouds from Electro-Optical (EO) imagery.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) by enhancing geospatial intelligence capabilities, ensuring client satisfaction through the advancement of analytical workflows, and applying robust scientific methodologies.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the creation of multi-source reconnaissance packages for geodetic survey missions, utilizing existing data and services.
- Collaborate with senior photogrammetric leads to ensure compliance with relevant SOPs and standards.
- Prepare packages at least two weeks prior to deployment, unless notified otherwise.
- Work closely with the SFNS Requirements Manager and Mission Managers to ensure package accessibility and clarity.
- Gather feedback post-deployment to improve package usability and refine processes.
- Contribute to the revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and geodetic standards.
- Keep relevant stakeholders informed about package status and completion.
- Identify potential data sources and optimization strategies for package generation.
- Assist in resolving data accessibility challenges from various teams.
- Basic understanding of photogrammetry, LiDAR processing, and EO point cloud generation.
- 1-3 years of experience in processing and analyzing LiDAR data or EO point clouds.
- Familiarity with co-registering datasets to the WGS 84 reference frame.
- Experience with QT Modeler, Socet Set, or similar software.
- Basic knowledge of ESRI ArcGISPro.
- Understanding of digital data formats, including vector and raster data.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Degree in a STEM field.
- Experience or coursework in geodetic or land surveying.
- Knowledge of geodetic or statistical principles.
- Familiarity with standard NGA products and systems architecture.
- Standard office setting.
- CONUS travel may be required, with potential trips to various locations up to four times a year.
