About the Role

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Nursing Professional Development Specialist to join our Nursing Education team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in educating entry-level nursing support caregivers, ensuring they provide safe and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, direct, implement, and evaluate educational offerings for nursing staff based on their knowledge, skills, and learning levels.
  • Identify learning needs and desires of nursing personnel and develop effective evaluation systems to determine the effectiveness of educational activities.
  • Consult with nursing staff and other stakeholders to promote professional nursing practice and roles.
  • Assist in the development of department-specific orientation and competencies, and support departments in the orientation of staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field.
  • Master's degree in nursing or a related field (non-nursing Bachelor's degree acceptable).
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Two years of recent nursing experience, with demonstrated clinical expertise, including clinical nursing experience, preceptorship, and BCLS or ACLS instruction.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of education methodology, including needs assessment, curriculum development, instructional design, and principles of adult learning.
  • Presentation skills and experience working with unlicensed caregivers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in nursing or a related field.
  • Certification in a specialty area.
