Electrical Technician for LNG Project

KBR, Inc. is in search of experienced Electrical Technicians specializing in Precommissioning and Commissioning for a large-scale LNG initiative.

This significant project encompasses a 700MW Combined Cycle Power Plant, along with various Utility Packages, Storage Tanks, and Jetty facilities, all interconnected through over 30 Electrical Substations operating at voltages from 138kV to 480V.

Qualifications and Credentials:

  • Must possess valid qualifications to perform electrical work as a Tradesman in the State of Louisiana.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Electrical Commissioning Technician on substantial projects, ideally within the Oil & Gas and Power Plant sectors.
  • A minimum of 5 years of comprehensive experience in Electrical Commissioning.
  • NFPA 70E Certification or equivalent training is highly recommended.
  • Possession of a valid TWIC Card is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot Electrical Switchgears, Control Panels, UPS Systems, Trace Heating Systems, and Small Power Systems.
  • Exhibit proficiency in using Electrical Test Equipment and the ability to interpret schematic diagrams.
  • Design Electrical Isolations for Low Voltage Systems.
  • Conduct Pre-Energization Electrical Checks on equipment including Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Switchgear.
  • Ensure timely completion and signing of Inspection and Test Records (ITRs) and adherence to Electrical Procedures.
  • Coordinate the uncoupling operations of all Low Voltage Motors.
  • Maintain an updated set of Schematics for assigned Electrical Packages.
  • Participate in Electrical Walk-downs and provide on-site support for minor Punch List items.
  • Report to and take direction from the Electrical Lead Technicians and Supervisors.
  • Willingness to work Night Shifts is essential.
