Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Truck Technician to join our team at Nikola Motor. As a Heavy Duty Truck Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and improving Class 8 Heavy-Duty trucks, specifically the Nikola Tre vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install components on Class 8 Heavy-Duty trucks
  • Assist in the design and manufacture of specialized parts as needed for all types of vehicles
  • Perform quality inspections of vehicles
  • Communicate directly with the Shop Manager, Manufacturing, and Engineering team
  • Execute repairs to proper specifications
  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Travel abroad for specialized training
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in R&D, manufacturing, or related field
  • Previous expertise in class-8 alt-fuel environment is a plus
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude with a focus on efficiency
  • Experience as welder MIG/TIG is a plus
  • Diagnostic skills
  • Certification in hybrid and electric vehicles
  • ASE certification
  • Effective oral & written communication
  • Ability to follow directions while being a self-starter
  • Ability to use a computer, hand, electric and pneumatic tools
  • A customer-first attitude
  • Physical stamina to (including but not limited to) stand, kneel, bend, push, pull, reach, grip, lift, etc
  • Comprehension of and adherence to safety & policy practices
