Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Intermediate/Stepdown Level Nursing Experience Required
License: Registered Nurse (RN) - Approved by a Board of Nursing
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in a mixed acuity unit handling Intermediate Care, Tele, and MedSurg patients.
- Provide care for surgical patients, including urology, mass removal, and general abdominal surgeries.
- Specialize in orthopedics, primarily handling total joints and ortho trauma.
- Manage neuro/spine patients, particularly post neuro-intervention.
- Handle general medical cases such as cellulitis, influenza, pneumonia, COPD, and more.
- Perform various nursing duties such as reading/interpreting cardiac strips, chest tube management, and wound care.
- Administer TPN/tube feeding, medication administration, and blood product transfusions.
- Conduct drip titration of medications like Heparin, Insulin, and other antihypertensives.
- Work within a unit's pod structure, collaborating with other RNs and Nurse Aides.
- Float between related units based on staffing needs.
- Participate in a comprehensive orientation program to familiarize with unit policies and protocols.
- Adhere to a weekend rotation schedule and discuss availability for working every weekend if needed.
- Follow holiday and time-off policies, including specific blackout dates.
- Wear specified scrub color during shifts.
