Position Overview

As a Product Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and marketing initiatives for Bobcat's Class V Bit Truck Products. This includes a current focus on Internal Combustion Engine Forklifts, with future expansions into Electronic Models.

Key Responsibilities

Market & Competitor Analysis

  • Gather and evaluate market data across various dimensions such as industry, product, and region.
  • Analyze competitor offerings and strategies to identify opportunities for differentiation.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to conduct research activities aimed at understanding customer and dealer needs.
  • Utilize market insights to inform long-term product strategies and support development efforts.
  • Review Engineering Change Notices for their impact on product performance and communicate findings to relevant teams.

Product Planning & Development

  • Balance operational considerations in the product planning process, focusing on quality and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Develop comprehensive business cases for new product initiatives, aligning with customer needs and competitive analysis.

Product Management

  • Provide essential marketing plans and product specifications to support business objectives.
  • Work alongside the Program Management Office to ensure product alignment with market demands.
  • Act as the Voice of the Customer, offering feedback to enhance product development.
  • Coordinate with the attachments team to ensure compatibility with approved attachments.
  • Maintain accurate pricing and specification documentation.
  • Assist in the setup of new product configurations in production systems.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create training materials for product launches and participate in training events.
  • Conduct product training sessions for dealer Sales Specialists and Field Marketers.
  • Provide ongoing support to enhance dealer performance.
  • Refine product management processes to facilitate effective collaboration across regions and functions.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Engineering.
  • Experience: Background in Internal Combustion Engine operations and Class V Big Truck material handling.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel 10-24% as needed.
  • Knowledge of construction product development and customer research methodologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage dealer feedback and objections effectively.
  • Potential for international travel.
