Job Title: Travel Splicing Technician, Level III

Job Summary:

ADB Companies, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Travel Splicing Technician, Level III to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing various underground, aerial, and ISP fiber splicing projects nationwide. This role requires a strong foundation in splicing knowledge, basic leadership skills, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and develop Level I and Level II Technicians onsite
  • Perform various ribbon and single mode splices, test, and terminate cable
  • Oversee splicing projects and escalate any issues to the Lead or Supervisor on site
  • Collect, review, and provide field data to splicing leadership when requested
  • Perform expert-level jobsite preparation for various underground, aerial, and ISP fiber placement splicing projects
  • Expert-level ability to prep fiber optic cables using shavers and splitters for splicing projects
  • Ability to determine cable direction in all circumstances and safe practices within all splicing functions
  • Install various fiber optic cables into an assortment of fiber splicing cases
  • Ability to ring-tap cable into splicing cases
  • Perform a variety of fiber splicing cuts and testing within a live fiber optic tray
  • Expert-level understanding of opening vaults and hand holes
  • Ability to route aerial, underground, ISP cables to include hanging aerial and installation in racks, shelves, and storage locations
  • Ability to perform single mode and ribbon splicing for both butt and lateral enclosures
  • Process cable relocations and hot cuts with hand hole organization
  • Communicate effectively with the Network Control Centers (NOC), external vendors, customer, subcontractors, and internal leadership teams
  • Operate an assortment of hand tools, including diagonal cutters, razor blades, ribbon splitters, etc.
  • Read and interpret entry-level constructions prints and drawings
  • Perform maintenance on various splicing equipment
  • Ensure safety requirements are being followed
  • Safely operate company vehicles and construction equipment

Requirements:

  • 3-7+ years of experience performing fiber optic splicing projects
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Travel ability nationwide

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions like sitting, squatting, standing, walking, climbing, etc.
  • May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels while onsite
  • When working on site, will be required to wear common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed boots
