Wireline Lineman

Job Summary:

ADB Companies Inc is seeking a skilled Lineman to join our wireline aerial team. As a Lineman, you will be responsible for providing proficient manual laborer, cable placement, and equipment operations. This position will involve aerial installation of fiber optic cable for various telecommunication projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides mid-level aerial installation functions, including hand digging, setting up traffic control, and operating equipment.
• Proficient with utility print and map reading.
• Has performed at least 2 years of independent aerial cable placement and installation, with knowledge of safety regulations and basic operating skills.
• Climbs utility poles and/or utilizes lift to place cable in adherence to print designs and maps.
• Supports the setup and shut down of utility construction projects, including traffic control in various conditions.
• Ensures safety is the top priority, following required safety practices while performing safety-sensitive duties.
• Trains alongside experienced construction crews, learning fiber installation, print reading, equipment operations, and OSHA requirements.
• Loads and unloads materials and equipment from vehicles at construction yards and job sites.
• Acts as a right-hand to the Foreman, leading by example and ensuring safety rules are followed.
• Performs OTJ training to grow technical and leadership skills.
• Assists in identifying hazards using the pre-task process.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of Lineman experience in the telecommunications industry.
• Formalized training/Lineman certification from an accredited tech school.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• CDL License (or the ability to obtain).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment:

• Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, squatting, standing, walking, and climbing.
• May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels while on site.
• Regular exposure to all weather conditions, including hot, humid, cold, rain, snow, and ice.
• Must wear common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed boots.

Compensation:

This position starts at $24/hr, determined by experience and skillset.
