Role Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse will provide professional nursing care to a designated group of patients within the facility. This role involves collaboration with medical staff and other healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care. The RN will perform all duties in accordance with established policies and guidelines, while also supervising and delegating appropriate tasks to support staff.
Key Duties Include:
- Conducting initial and ongoing patient assessments, which encompass physical, psychosocial, environmental, and educational needs.
- Implementing care plans, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
- Documenting all patient care activities accurately.
- Monitoring and communicating patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and families as necessary.
- Assisting patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
- Coordinating patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, and referrals.
- Evaluating the educational needs of patients and families, providing tailored education based on age, culture, and condition.
- Advocating for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
- Supervising and mentoring other staff members as required.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Skills: Strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment are essential. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, along with a current RN license to practice in NC (or a multi-state compact license).
Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of nursing experience is preferred, with recent acute care experience within the last three years being advantageous.
