MRI Technologist for Travel Assignments

Position Overview

The Travel MRI Technologist role at Piedmont Henry Hospital involves providing high-quality imaging services to a diverse patient population, ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. This position requires adherence to established protocols and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Certification Requirements
  • BLS - Basic Life Support
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Work Schedule
  • Shifts: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year; first-time travelers are not accepted
Patient Care Responsibilities

The technologist will be responsible for performing MRI scans on inpatients, emergency room patients, and outpatients. Key duties include:

  • Starting IVs and administering contrast as necessary
  • Maintaining compliance with Piedmont protocols and policies
  • Conducting scans on various body parts, including body, neuro, extremities, abdominal, pelvic, and angiogram (excluding cardiac and breast scans during the week)
Operational Details
  • Average daily caseload: 15-25 patients
  • Unit Systems: Epic (required), GE and Siemens (required)
  • Scrub Color: Gray or Black
  • Floating: None
  • Call Requirements: Yes
Holiday and Weekend Work

Travelers are expected to work during major holidays as specified in the guidelines. The holiday schedule is as follows:

  • One major holiday: expected to work
  • Two major holidays: expected to work both
  • Three major holidays: expected to work two
Compliance and Orientation

Full compliance with certification requirements is necessary to ensure timely onboarding. Non-compliance may result in a delay of up to two weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.
