Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team on the Med/Tele/Stroke Unit at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a professional nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with basic activities of daily living, including bathing, toileting, and oral hygiene.
  • Provide care, comfort, and safety of assigned patients under direct supervision of a nurse.
  • Use proper infection prevention techniques and perform delegated nursing care procedures.
  • Observe patients and report reactions or changes in condition to appropriate nursing personnel.
  • Assist patients with mobility and turning, as needed.
  • Transfer/transport medications from one area to another as needed.
  • Distribute patient trays and nourishments, fill water pitchers, and assist patients with feeding if necessary.
  • Promptly respond to patients' call lights to determine patients' needs in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Heart Saver (CPR Certification), CNA, and current registration with the State of Maryland Board of Nursing Examiners of Nurses as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • At least 6 months experience in direct patient care preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to read and write English to provide basic patient care, understand and communicate detailed instructions, and perform simple calculations.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients, visitors, physicians, and other staff in a courteous manner.
  • Competent to safely handle medications.
