Allergan Aesthetics Biological Research is in search of a driven and inventive professional to spearhead and engage in interdisciplinary research within a highly cooperative atmosphere.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe selected individual will:
- Develop and execute screening and research studies utilizing diverse electrophysiology platforms aimed at characterizing protein-based therapeutics.
- Design and implement in vitro/ex vivo patch-clamp electrophysiology experiments to assess the activity and functionality of therapeutic proteins.
- Act as a technical authority in the field, investigating, identifying, developing, and optimizing recording configurations to meet critical project requirements independently.
- Organize, analyze, and interpret experimental results, providing insights and recommendations based on findings, and effectively communicate these during team meetings and in reports.
- Exhibit exceptional troubleshooting abilities.
The candidate will operate in a regulated and controlled setting, adhering to stringent guidelines for handling Select Agent protein toxins.
Additional DutiesResponsibilities also include:
- Conducting patch-clamp electrophysiology experiments in primary neurons, hiPSC-derived neurons, and tissue slices.
- Performing immunohistochemistry in cultured cells and tissues to assess target engagement.
- Collaborating with cross-functional team members to achieve organizational goals and requirements.
- Making substantial contributions to project teams through laboratory-based or other work environment activities.
- Executing data analysis, drafting scientific reports, and delivering presentations to multidisciplinary teams and management.
- Demonstrating a high level of proficiency and expertise in the relevant discipline.
- Setting and achieving goals and experimental timelines.
- Learning, understanding, and mastering new experimental techniques, while serving as a resource, mentor, and leader to others.
- Regularly reviewing and applying pertinent scientific literature, and contributing to the writing and conceptual framework of publications, presentations, and patents.
- Effectively organizing and presenting scientific plans and data internally and at leading scientific conferences.
Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled substances, GxP compliance, and animal care where applicable.
