Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Operator to join our team in the sheet metal department. As a Sheet Metal Operator, you will be responsible for operating the Amada laser cutting machine and other machinery used in the production process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the Amada laser cutting machine to cut sheet metal to precise specifications.
  • Prepare sheet metal for delivery to brake press operators by loading and unloading raw materials and final products.
  • Lift and move raw materials, final products, and items prepped for shipment manually or using overhead crane and forklift.
  • Assist machine operators in the production process by providing support and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Experience cycle counting sheet metal to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Maintain a strict preventive maintenance program to ensure the optimal performance of equipment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of laser cutting operations and the ability to set up lenses based on material type and thickness.
  • Experience with nesting software and the ability to maximize sheet utilization (Radan Software experience preferred).
  • Ability to monitor the fill level of the bulk tank system and report reordering levels to the supervisor.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
