Job Summary

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in the Operating Room environment. This role requires collaboration with patients, family members, peers, physicians, and other healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong assessment skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care
  • Implement and evaluate medical and nursing regimens
  • Provide education to patients and families on health-related topics
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current New York registration
  • Baccalaureate in Nursing (BSN) required for all external RNs hired on or after January 1st, 2018
  • One year of acute care nursing experience preferred
  • BLS certification (through American Heart Association) is required
  • ACLS certification (through American Heart Association) is required for all RNs, except for NICU and OR RNs
  • PALS certification (through American Heart Association) is required for all RNs working in the PACU, 5I Pediatrics, Emergency Department, Armonk Urgent Care, and Ambulatory Surgery
  • NRP certification is required for all RNs working in the Mother-Baby unit, Labor & Delivery, and NICU
Work Environment

The Operating Room Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment with continuous interruptions. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt to changing situations and prioritize tasks effectively.

Primary Population Served

The Operating Room Registered Nurse will work with patients of all ages, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The ideal candidate will be able to provide care to patients with diverse needs and backgrounds.
