Job Description:

The Civil Designer's primary function will be to draft and design site developments, including roads, layout, water and sewer, drainage, grading, storm water management, and erosion control. The Designer must meet project schedules as assigned by their supervisor.


Responsibilities:

  1. Create site masterplans, considering zoning constraints, setbacks, buffers, parking requirements, etc.
  2. Analyze GIS Shapefiles, DEM files, and LAS files to develop topographical maps for preliminary engineering and due diligence.
  3. Assist in preparing construction documents, including drawings/plans, specifications, spreadsheets, exhibits, reports, diagrams, etc.
  4. Perform CAD drafting using AutoCAD Civil 3D to transform conceptual designs into final drawings.
  5. Collaborate with a team of professionals to develop construction documents for various land development projects.
  6. Determine horizontal and vertical layouts for roadways and utilities associated with residential and commercial designs.
  7. Prepare Erosion and Sediment Control plans meeting ODOT requirements.
  8. Address site plan comments from local reviewing agencies and relay significant impacts to Project Managers.
  9. Maintain job-specific quality control and provide technical support to CAD Technicians.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED with drafting experience considered.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License.
  • 8+ years of experience with AutoCAD.
  • 5+ years of experience with Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Bluebeam, Acrobat, Sketch-up, Revit, or Parametric Modeling software is a plus.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Great attitude and desire for professional growth.
