Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in wound and ostomy care, you will deliver direct patient care utilizing the nursing process in alignment with the organization’s standards and values.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and assess patient care plans based on thorough evaluations to enhance outcomes and utilize resources effectively.
2. Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions as necessary.
3. Collaborate across various disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and addressing spiritual or psychosocial needs.
4. Assess educational needs of patients and families, providing tailored education based on age, culture, and specific circumstances.
5. Delegate patient care tasks to support staff as appropriate.
6. May mentor student nurses and new staff members.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program is required.
Licensure/Certification:
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
All candidates must possess a valid BLS certification prior to the start date.
