Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled RN Charge to lead our Cardiovascular Unit team at Ascension Sacred Heart - Bay in Panama City, Florida. As a key member of our medical surgical team, you will be responsible for coordinating unit staffing, providing leadership, and ensuring the implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shifts.
  • Contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff.
  • Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patient care assignments, ensuring that population-appropriate patient care is given.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
  • Respond to complaints about patient care and manage through established channels.
  • May provide input for hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluating of staff.
Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • Required professional licensure/certification and 1 year of cumulative job-specific experience required.
