Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Educator and Perinatal Safety Specialist to join our team at Catholic Health Initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to combine your clinical expertise with education and patient safety expertise to promote excellence in maternal services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing education and patient safety, with experience in developing and implementing clinical education programs and promoting a culture of safety.

This is a part-time (.6FTE) RN position in Maternal Services, with a .25 FTE as a RN Clinical Educator and .35 FTE as a Perinatal Safety Specialist.

Responsibilities
  • Promotes excellence in clinical nursing care and contributes to the professional growth and development of nursing staff through clinical education and professional development activities.
  • Collaborates with clinical and administrative leadership to implement education initiatives and priorities as established by CHI Health nursing division and campus leadership.
  • Acts as a change agent and mentor while promoting interdisciplinary teamwork and evidence-based practice and teaching.
  • Assists nursing staff and profession in acquisition of skills, knowledge, and competencies through needs assessment and development of implementation plan for programs.
Requirements
  • BSN required. Masters Degree in Nursing or completion of MSN program within 5 years of start date.
  • Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska, Iowa, or nurse licensure compact.
  • Basic life support is required upon hire.
  • Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Heart Association: Basic Life Support.
