Job Title: Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate

Chenega Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate to join our team. As a key member of our Family Advocacy Program, you will provide critical support and services to victims of domestic abuse, empowering them to take control of their lives and seek help.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide 24/7 response to victims alleging domestic abuse, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Establish and maintain victim safety plans, working closely with treatment managers and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Family Advocacy Treatment Manager and Family Advocacy Intervention Specialist to develop and implement safety plans.
  • Review and update safety plans regularly, ensuring the victim's needs are met.
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent domestic abuse, promoting a coordinated community response.
  • Provide education and training to Security Forces Squadron and Office of Special Investigations personnel on the Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate role.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with civilian domestic abuse resources, ensuring victims have access to comprehensive support services.
  • Participate in the installation Family Advocacy Committee, contributing to the development and implementation of domestic abuse policies and protocols.
  • Support the Family Advocacy Secondary Prevention and Client Engagement (SPaCE) and New Parent Support Program (NPSP) prevention activities.
  • Collaborate with the Family Advocacy Nurse to provide comprehensive support services to victims.
  • Participate in outreach programs, educational briefings, and skill-building classes to promote domestic abuse awareness and prevention.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling, Counseling or Behavioral Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience assisting and providing advocacy services to victims of domestic abuse or sexual assault.
