Job Title: Assistant Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team within the Engineering industry.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial health of our organization, providing key insights that drive strategic decisions.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including financial statements and budget performance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations, and systems of internal control.
  • Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information.
  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Reconcile income and expenses and ensure all business transactions have been properly recorded.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets or forecasts.
  • Participate in preparation for the annual audit.
  • Help in development of reports for management or regulatory bodies.
  • Review financial data for accuracy, correctness, and completeness.
  • Strengthen existing accounting procedures and process improvements.
  • Perform cash flow analysis and planning to ensure availability of funds as needed.
  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Develop and implement robust inventory control procedures.
  • Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost, and inventory, liability accounts for customers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Experience in the Engineering industry is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, with little supervision.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, and planning.
  • Proven experience with financial reporting, inventory controls, provisions, and product costs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
