Assistant Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team within the Engineering industry.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial health of our organization, providing key insights that drive strategic decisions.
Responsibilities:- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including financial statements and budget performance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations, and systems of internal control.
- Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information.
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
- Reconcile income and expenses and ensure all business transactions have been properly recorded.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets or forecasts.
- Participate in preparation for the annual audit.
- Help in development of reports for management or regulatory bodies.
- Review financial data for accuracy, correctness, and completeness.
- Strengthen existing accounting procedures and process improvements.
- Perform cash flow analysis and planning to ensure availability of funds as needed.
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes.
- Develop and implement robust inventory control procedures.
- Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost, and inventory, liability accounts for customers.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- CPA or MBA preferred.
- Experience in the Engineering industry is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, with little supervision.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, and planning.
- Proven experience with financial reporting, inventory controls, provisions, and product costs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
