Chewy is on the lookout for a driven, analytical, and passionate Lead Financial Strategist to become a vital part of our expanding Commercial Finance Consumables team.

This role combines financial acumen with a solid grasp of financial reporting, leveraging data to influence decisions. The selected candidate will engage in diverse financial planning and analysis activities to bolster critical strategic initiatives, propel Chewy Consumables' growth, and ensure that financial targets are met.

The focus will be on vendor incentives, where the candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing the value derived from our vendor collaborations.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct modeling and analytics to distill extensive data sets into clear insights and recommendations for leadership.
  • Support the reporting and financial performance management systems for the business, defining essential metrics and performance indicators to assess overall business health.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the broader Chewy finance team, the Chewy Consumables Merchandising Team, product development, marketing, supply chain, and accounting to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business and its clientele.
  • Actively engage in strategic planning, target establishment, and annual budgeting processes.
  • Advise merchant partners on optimal rebate contract structures to enhance cash flow.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

What You'll Need

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant financial experience with a foundational understanding of GAAP and financial statements.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling, with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced skills in Excel (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.) and PowerPoint.
  • Creative thinking, self-motivation, independence, and the ability to manage ambiguity while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Bonus

  • Experience with SQL coding, Hyperion Smartview, Tableau, Oracle ERP, or project management skills.

Compensation & Benefits


The salary range for this Lead Financial Strategist position is competitive and may vary based on the candidate's experience, education, and location. Additionally, this role is eligible for a 401k plan and both new hire and annual equity grants.
